Paul Griggs
Добавлен 5 мар 2008
Paul Griggs has been a professional musician since 1968.
He was a member of "OCTOPUS" who supported many well known groups including "CREAM" and "YES". They had one L.P. and several singles released. The band was run by Paul and his brother Nigel who eventually joined top New Zealand band SPLIT ENZ.
When OCTOPUS finally disbanded, Paul went on to join vocal group GUYS n' DOLLS and their first single "THERE'S A WHOLE LOT OF LOVING" went straight to number two in the British charts. In 1978 they had the honour of supporting FRANK SINATRA for a week of concerts at THE ROYAL FESTIVAL HALL in London,
In 1986 he was a finalist in "A SONG FOR EUROPE" with his composition "I'M SORRY" and a year later his song "NO MORE TEARS" was runner up in a song contest that was organised and judged by PAUL McCARTNEY.
Paul's song "I DON'T WANNA LOSE YOU" was recorded by his boyhood hero the late LONNIE DONEGAN.

Leadbelly
Love this song, unique x
Lonnie Donegan was an English skiffle musician - how he had any knowledge of the Rock Island Line is a bit of a mystery.
❤❤❤
Ein echter Kerl, ein mächtiger Hombre, wie es sie NUR in den 70" gab. Die weich gespülten Dutzend Fressen von heute sind einfach nur zum Kotzen !
This artist, performance and TV coverage changed the world of music more than it gets recognised for. Absolutely timeless....
Timeless song craft 🎉
The groove to this song is so wonderful.🙏
This is called Skittle ! When the Beatles started out it was extremely liked in England ! HeeHaw in the 60’s and 70’s used the songs as Country Music !
Actually it's called skiFFle, but I like skittles as well!
Very nice. I particularly like `Here I Go Again` that really is a lovely easy going song.
Who else came here because of the Railroad quote on Civ IV?
Have a whiff on me
I swear this is Robin Williams
My uncle john on the Tambourine and Drums.
Apart from some segments of the show still in existence . Sounds quality might be of broadcast quality
I was nobody, i was a child, I WAS NOBODY'S CHILD, but i was never alone, i was never alone, Not any time, this is my memory, and my memoral to th past, to the presemt amd the future, God loves you, open your eyes and know he loves you

I was waiting for the verse about there being not mushroom in the bin, sadly it never happened.
The polar opposite to the growing punk movement. Nice song though
Reminds me of good times listening to music on a Sunday with my Dad.
Pure brilliance.
Just great.
My great great grandmother wrote the original chorus as a poem in the 1870's. The Sweet Singer of Michigan. Look her up!
Lonnie is brilliant have a to Jimmy Driftwoods version
It's one of my favourite videos - it just makes me smile every time I watch it!
Loved this song as a kid. Mum had a 45. I played it to death.
Oh… wow! Thanks for that! I’ve watched steam, diesel and electric from this station. I once lived not so far away. In the early 70’s I walked from WN to WGC crossing the Digswel viaduct! Not recommended I hasten to add. Fantastic blast from the past! ❤
Saw Lonnie in 1959 at Liverpool Empire, brilliant live act
Amazing
Гитары, жаль, маленькие тогда делали. В сочетании с тирольскими руладами качественное брянчанинов.
i remember different lines as a kid though
Only discovered this a few days ago and what a great song! Such a shame you didn`t record this as it suited the group perfectly. Anyway I`ve ordered the Albert Hammond album `When I Need You` which has this song on. Thanks for posting this is lovely to watch.
It is crazy that I have never heard of Lonnie Donegan until today! Can't help but tap that foot.
Well, there are two great guys who made this crazy world a little better during their all-too-brief lifetimes.
RIP Dominic
WHAT A RIPPER /CHEERS
I haven't listened to this in more then 20 years. Its a great record.
Just wow, he was doing Elvis before Elvis did Elvis
Awesome old grey whistle test footage. I enjoyed the detailed history from 1977 to the present! Epic!!!!
king of skiffle
Joop koerhuis nieuwleusen !!!!!! 2008 2007
He kind of looks like Robin Williams. He could've played him in a biopic if it had been made sometime in the early 80s or so.
That was hilarious,, brilliant,,, I adored Bruce's humour over the years and this was great tv,,, So called entertainment tv today has nothing on this,,,, this is classic
This is brilliant,,, lovin this
I used to have an big tea chest a broom stick and I used to play alone with these groups on my own
Testify!!!
Wow. I've heard several tunes by Lonnie Donegan that were all powerful, but this one, wow!!!!
I always get the chills when I hear Lonnie Donegan's performance(s) of Frankie and Johnny. What an absolute master.
